What does a lifetime of looking closely at the world teach you?

In 1957, two young Canadians — wildlife artist Robert Bateman and biologist Bristol Foster — set out on a global expedition in a rugged Land Rover they nicknamed 'The Grizzly Torque.'

What began as a shared sense of wonder about the natural world became a lifelong friendship and a lifelong commitment to conservation, expressed through Bateman's art and Foster's science.
