Our Services

Cowichan Hospice walks alongside people in our community who are facing death, dying, and grief; offering comfort, dignity, and compassionate support every step of the way. Our programs are grounded in whole-person care, looking after the emotional, social, and practical needs of the people we serve, not just the medical ones. Every service we offer is free, confidential, and available to any adult in the Cowichan region.

Who We Support

People living with a life-limiting illness. In-home and in-hospital visits from trained hospice volunteers offer emotional support and companionship that honours each person's culture, values, and wishes.

Family caregivers. One-to-one emotional support, caregiver support groups, and practical resources help caregivers look after a loved one while also looking after themselves.

People grieving a death. One-to-one grief support and support groups, including specialized programs for traumatic loss and for children and youth learning to live with loss.

Anyone planning ahead. Free Advance Care Planning workshops help people document their health care wishes and ease decision-making for their families.

Patients and families needing residential end-of-life care. Our staff and specially trained volunteers provide emotional and practical support, information, and resources to patients and their loved ones  along with everyday comforts, from favourite snacks to streaming subscriptions, that help make it feel like home in life's most vulnerable moments.
