Volunteering at Cowichan Hospice
Volunteers are the Heart of Cowichan Hospice!
Cowichan Hospice volunteers receive extensive training, ongoing education, and supervision so they may provide expert support to clients through their palliative and grief journeys.
Though they are guided by Hospice values and protocols, each volunteer brings something unique and authentic to the role. Most provide peer support and information to palliative and bereaved clients and caregivers, while others support hospice care and services through office work, gardening, fundraising and helping out at events.

Is volunteering at Cowichan Hospice right for you?
We offer volunteer training annually, with additional training opportunities provided as needed based on volunteer and program requirements. After completing the initial training, new volunteers are supported by experienced volunteers within mentorship pod through a six-month apprenticeship. Peer support meetings are held monthly, and advanced learning opportunities are available throughout the year.
