In snow-swept Winnipeg, school teacher Sumi is hospitalized after a fall. Her anxious mother Sara travels from Korea to care for her, settling into her daughter's apartment for what she expects will be a short stay.
As Sara waits and watches over Sumi, she begins to realize how little she actually knows about her daughter's life — and sets out, in her own determined way, to understand it.
